About us: Foothills Philharmonic

Who Are We?

The mission of the FOOTHILLS PHILHARMONIC  is to enrich the lives of the residents of the Upstate region of South  Carolina through quality performances of fine orchestral literature.  Through outreach programs, our volunteer members work with young adults,  the goal being to foster an appreciation and love for music and the  arts. In conjunction with other organizations, we assist in fulfilling  the needs of the community. Please feel free to ask more questions about us and our vision to educate, enrich, and entertain  the City of Greer and the rest of the upstate.

Who Are Our Musicians?

Foothills Philharmonic is an all-volunteer orchestra made up of  accomplished professional and nonprofessional musicians from the Upstate region.  Orchestra membership includes individuals from many walks of life: part-time musicians, teachers, business and professional people, homemakers, and more. We perform in Greer, and would encourage you to visit the rest of our site to learn more about us.

Need to Hire Musicians for a Performance?

In addition to performing regularly with the orchestra, our musicians routinely find themselves hired for engagements throughout the upstate of South Carolina. Whatever you need, we would love to help you out as a part of our vision of educating, enriching, and entertaining not only our home City of Greer but also the rest of the Upstate of South Carolina.

Hire One of our musicians today!

We are also educators!

While our primary role with the orchestra is performance, we do have many fine educators in our group. From the private teachers and clinicians to band and orchestra directors that are a part of the orchestra, we feel strongly about promoting music education! If you have any questions about what we can provide in this area, please contact our Director of Education Jessica Morgan at education.director@foothillsphil.org.

Interested in Playing With Us?

Membership  in Foothills Philharmonic is open to amateur and  professional  musicians. Avocational musicians are welcome and no audition is required (although training in youth orchestra, college orchestra, professional orchestra, or a concert band is suggested as necessary experience.) All interested  musicians should contact our Personnel Manager at foothillspersonnel@foothillsphil.org. All of our performances are located in the City of Greer.
