In the intimate setting of a small music hall, Foothills soloists take the stage to wrap you in the embrace of a single voice. It’s a chance to experience how talented individual Foothills musicians are. The audience is invited to visit the art displayed at the Gallery before or after the concert. Concert, art gallery and parking are all absolutely Free.
Terry Davidson
Terry, principal flute, has played with the Foothills Philharmonic since 2012 and is Foothills’ hard working and much appreciated librarian. She plays flute with many local bands plus Southern Harmony Flute Choir and Soundscape Flute Quintet. Terry loves exploring the beautiful scenery of the Upstate and all the parks at Disney World.
Ted Gentry
Ted is Principal bassoon with Foothills Philharmonic. As a high schooler in rural North Carolina, Ted was lucky to live near the North Carolina School of the Arts and to take lessons from legendary bassoonist Mark Popkin. In 2004, there was an opening for 2nd Bassoon. Though he hadn’t played bassoon for 20 years, it seemed like
Ted Gentry
Ted is Principal bassoon with Foothills Philharmonic. As a high schooler in rural North Carolina, Ted was lucky to live near the North Carolina School of the Arts and to take lessons from legendary bassoonist Mark Popkin. In 2004, there was an opening for 2nd Bassoon. Though he hadn’t played bassoon for 20 years, it seemed like an easy entry. Suddenly, he received a battlefield promotion when the 1st Bassoon layer left town. Ted’s daytime gig as an attorney for Wyche Law Firm.
Andrew Kearns
Drew Kearns has played horn with the Foothills Philharmonic since 2002. His degree in musicology is from the University of Illinois. He played in the Jefferson Symphony (Golden, Colorado), and the Champaign-Urbana Symphony. If you ever want to know about the music Foothills performs check out Andrew’s program notes – they are always fascinating and spot on.
Gina League
Gina is principal clarinet and has played with the Foothills Philharmonic since 2011. She is known as a beloved music educator whether in directing school programs, church music groups, Kindermusik and private woodwind lessons, as well a performing in major symphony orchestras from DC to Nashville to Greenville.
Ray Neibeuer
Ray, a newcomer to Foothills last year, played with the Maryland Symphony for 13 years and still commutes to play with the Naptown Philharmonic (Annapolis MD). A respiratory therapist, Ray belongs to the Greenville Harley Davidson Club and is also proud of his award winning 1970 Mustang convertible.
Suzette Wood
Suzette has played viola with the Foothills Philharmonic since 2021 and plays French horn with Upstate Winds and the Lakeside Band. She studied with Francis Tursi at Eastman, and soloed with the Genesee and Greece (NY) Symphonies. Suzette and her husband Paul love motorcycle touring and are looking forward to adventures with their brand-new camper.
